Over het ontstaan van DeSNapp

DeSNapp stands for 'De Strategic Netwerk app'. Our motto is "Discover what your colleagues are working on." In English, it translates to "DeSNapp, to connect with peer groups, share knowledge & experience."

DeSNapp is an open platform where groups provide updates on their topics, activities, and results. The goal is to have as many groups as possible participating, including government, businesses, knowledge institutions, and societal organizations.

The province of South Holland initiated DeSNapp due to the urgency in the daily work of the Dutch government, which largely revolves around achieving societal goals together with others. At the same time, we see that the current market offerings of applications cannot adequately facilitate this need. Our intention is to initiate a process and feedback loop by inviting others to participate.

It is explicitly not our intention to develop DeSNapp into a professional tool. There are other parties better suited for that.

DeSNapp is a departure from the current market offerings. Team applications like Microsoft Teams and Slack primarily focus on internal team communication. Network applications like LinkedIn, Salesforce, and many CRM systems put individuals at the center. In DeSNapp, we reverse this approach by mapping the network from groups and organizations and directing team communication towards individuals.

By demonstrating how this works in practice, we hope to inspire market players and suppliers or even challenge them to do better.
